Just a few blocks away is the incredible Sea of Cortez,
once called the “world’s aquarium” by Jacques Cousteau. The bay stretches along the entire length of La Paz and
the five-mile-long Malecón—a wide walkway perfect for strolling—runs the entire length of the downtown area. The Sea of Cortez offers world-class scuba diving, sport fishing and kayaking and several off-shore islands have been designated a United Nations Biosphere Reserve, making them popular eco-tourism destinations.
